Ahhh its so cuuute

This country loves the fluffy, the rugby team are called the Cherry Blossoms, the cute and above all the pink. Pink is everywhere all year round little Hello Kitys hanging from peoples mobiles pink skirts pink soft toys - everywhere. Now Japan is in the grip of a national obsession Cherry Blossom season. Its hard to imagine another country where people go quite so crazy over spring. Its a constant topic of conversation. There are over 200 different varieties of cherry blossom in this country white ones red ones and of course pink lots of pink ones. I may be being a little dismissive so in fairness (roight) they are very spectacular in a pretty kind of way. I suppose pink isn't really a spectacular colour at all so they were nice very nice and cycling along the river with the petals drifting down towards the water it was extremely nice. Spring has come on strong everywhere you look the bushes and trees are sprouting little blossomy things and the grass is turning green after a winter of brownness. It is also thank whoever one thanks in an atheistic country warm. Lovely. On my blossom viewing trip I saw hundreds of people photographing trees, doing in fact exactly what I had come to do. Suddenly it seemed so cliche to just photograph the tree so I focused on the photographers but well yeah that's been done to death as well. So I settled for a few random shots, what I want is something a little original so if anyone can think of anything please let me know.

Just a little seasonal one for you,

Take care,
Roger

  • You once told me that you have to be a real man to wear pink. You support it more in clothing than flowers?
I just thought I'd let you know that I was reminded of a year ago today, I printed out my thesis in CSC, had it bound n reads, handed it in, and then browsed at the used book sale. Thought you might like to be reminded of the good old times of sleep deprivation. Enjoy cherry blossom season.

  • It took a week I'm affraid. But I had a desire which i gave into to write another chapter thursday night. As for gross missapropriation of funds... I'll write Joe a check.
Your name was mentioned several times last night at the T:FM AGM, all with fondness. We're broadcasting next week btw.
Be well man, and enjoy the revised flowers.

  • You've got so SOFT over there Middleton..talking about the Cherry blossom. Be good to see you back to your own culture in May for a few days where you can eat pies, drink pints and wave your belly around Trafalgar Square singing 'Windaloo' and the like.

Booked my flights during the week, leaving for Tokyo on the 14th May, back to the UK on the 27th June - must get in touch with my Uncle for a few hospitality tickets for the rugby matches, haven't talked to him in a year...oops, time for some bonding methinks!

  • speaking of a gross misappropriation of funds we managed to exceed lasts years tab at the csc ball by €200. I'd like to thank Squiffy and Kat for encouraging me to buy that champagne, without them this couldn't be possible.

  • Don't encourage him Jen, you know he gets all fluffy and cuddly, but behind that cute exterior lurks.... It's an artful deception from the Artful Wodger

I look forward to your sojourn in London good Middleton, get shitfaced there, get on a plane, get shitfaced in Japan...excellent plan.

Colm - I am very proud, the legacy of CSC is safe
